I didn’t find the new adapter radius technology worked fantastic. I have 2 Performance 2 capos at 7.25” radius and those seem to work better than the Performance 3. The Performance 3 is also a bit larger and heavier than the Performance 2. I appreciate these guys strive to innovate and improve, but these are so expensive and I didn’t find the Performance 3 working better than the 2.

The G7th Performance 3 ART is a big improvement over the V1. I honestly didn''t use the V1 much and stuck to using a Shubb. The V3 seems to be much better and it has replaced the Shubb as my main capo. I do still find that using my right had to set the capo works better than trying to set it 1-handed, but it IS possible to set in 1-handed. It IS easier to remove during a song. Is it worth the price? I don''t know. You can buy 2-3 Shubbs for the price of one G7th, but it IS cool and works pretty well, but the Shubb does a good job. The G7th does NOT work 2-3 times better than a Shubb.

I tried this expensive capo on three guitars; a Taylor 322, a Martin D-Jr, a Larivee OO-3R. I positioned the capo at three different locations on each; 2nd fret, 5th fret and 7th fret. At each location on each guitar at least one string buzzed or was dead sounding. Change in pressure (less tight, more tight) did not. The I did the same test with my Shubb Deluxe which passed all tests with no buzz or dead sound. It therefore appears I got a bad example or they just don''t work. In any case it will be returned and I''ll stick to my faithful Shubb.

For most this will be perfect. I just knocked 1 star because the v2 is slightly smaller and actually works and sounds better on my main guitar.

But.. For most people, this might work better due tk the self adjusting radius.

G7TH capls are really the best out there. Thalia is junk in comparison IMHO. They''re way too big and difficult to unclamp. Thalia videos make it look easy, but it isn''t. You have to use a ton of force. It''s almost ridiculous actually. This is FAR easier to use.

I''m not joking here or making up some review. Look at my other reviews. I''ll eviscerate when it''s warranted. G7TH rules the roost. I have 4 of them. 2x v2''s, 1x v3, and a partial capo.

YOU WILL NEVER LOOK BACK!

So I’ve been using a keyser capo for decades. These capo’s turned me off because of the price tag. I still think they are overpriced but they are excellent capo’s. Tried one because I had some free $$$ on my card and the price point wasn’t that crazy. As a player since 1979 I have used everything from the elastic band type to ones that screw on. This capo is stupid easy to use and very fast. I doesn’t take the guitar out of tune and it just works. It does seem lighter that the spring clamp types but I haven’t weighed them to see. Are they worth the extra money? I’d have to say yes depending on your playing level and how you play. If you play a lot like in a band just drop the cash and go for it. If you’re a pleasure player, personally I’d say if you’re using a spring type already and happy with it no need to spend the money. But it is a fantastic capo. Easy to use, fast and small.

How many capos does a guitarist really need to buy? So I asked for it as a gift! I just had to find out what the big deal is about these capos...people either love or hate them. I don''t read instructions so it took me a minute to figure out how it works, duh. At first I was squeezing too hard but it only takes a little pressure to set up, and again a little pressure on the tab to release and remove. I couldn''t see how the adaptive radius mechanism works under the string pad so I guess that''ll remain a secret. I''ve noticed another manufacturer is using compensated string pads for the same effect (requiring me to buy another capo). After using the G7th for a few weeks I have grown to like it for it''s ease of use and because I don''t have to retune as much, and I don''t notice any string buzz. However, there are other capos I like as much but they cost me much less.

I was really excited to get a new premium capo. I had been using a dunlop trigger capo for almost 20 years, but it had a little string buzz here and there. Well, I finally got myself a Taylor acoustic and decided to upgrade my capo.. The performance 3 was a complete disappointment. No matter how I positioned it, or how much pressure I put on it, all the strings buzzed. I looked into it, and apparently some folks complained about it not working on 13 gauge strings, although the g7th say that is fine. Well I tried it on some other guitars with lighter strings and still buzzy. I contacted them and they want a video to rule out some issues. I get it, but it is a huge pain in the ass to try to email video when servers allow limited bandwidth. So, I''m supposed to create some cloud account to link a video to in order for them to see their product doesn''t work? Basically, if their quality control is so poor on a $40-50 capo, I''m not interested in their product, no matter what their warranty is. The cheap Dunlop capo kicked its ass.

These really are as clever and well built as all the reviews you''ll find suggest. I''ve had a Shubb for almost 30 years and it is great and still works well. However, you have to tighten it to suit the neck pretty much every time and then re-tune. By contrast, the G7th is super quick and has little or no impact on tuning. You quickly learn how to squeeze it when you put it on so that it holds the strings enough to stop any buzz but not enough to pull them out tune. I also like how you can quickly store the G7th on the headstock when its not needed. Some people have commented on the release mechanism being non-intuitive. I don''t get that. I use it from under the neck and the release works well. It''s easy to put it on and take off with just one hand. All in all, an elegant, simple, practical and beautiful device (and designed in the UK).

Probably my fault for having unrealistic expectations, but this capo did not quite do it for me. I found that it worked really well on my electric guitars.... ( mainly Fenders, plus Gibson, Eastman. Guild etc )… but did not do so well on my acoustics... some with wider , thicker necks. On my Martin D18, Taylor 7 series and my Takemine, I found this to be quite prone to a few dead notes here and there up and down the neck ( especially on the G string)....... where the note would not ring clearly.... like a dull, damping effect. With a bit of faffing about and applying as much pressure as I could, the situation improved somewhat, but I bought this thinking that it would be a universal answer to all my capo use. Its not quite that. I would have to highly commend the company though, as I left a brief comment on a FB page, and they answered it straight away with an offer of help if I got in touch. That is excellent on their part. I will stick with it for the time being, but this product will not make me change over from my "go to" capo which is the old standard Shubb model. I think its a decent product.... perhaps just not for me.

Will hold in place with pressure. The contouring pad will work (from the looks of it) as intended for curved fretboards. Cons: It''s heavy - affects the balance of the guitar (at lest classical guitars which are light; could be different on more heavier built ones from mahogny etc.). It''s very small and suitable only for very thin necks and quite narrow fretboards. E.g. the fret rubber pad''s length was too short for my classical guitar (my 1st fret is 52 mm wide). I tried it on ukulele... nope. By weight of it, the whole Ukule tips over with this on. Sadly I had no instrument to make use of it.

I own all 3 models of this capo, and I find the chunky original is still the easiest to fit and the most reliable. For me, this lightweight v3 model seems to need more pressure to get a buzz-free fit on my Martin D-28 - something that''s harder for me to do these days with my ageing hands. Not sure that the ‘adaptive fit’ is that brilliant. I''m probably going to have to revert to my trusty old Shubb, which requires little force to fit. The idea of the G7th is great, and it''s beautifully engineered, but I think it''s destined for younger, stronger hands :-)
